I arrive at Belleza Luxury Skin Aesthetics, Maria's home studio in Hillcrest, North Shore. Her treatment room is warm, considered, and quietly professional. The heated bed is ready. Soft scents drift through the air. Everything has been thought about. Nothing feels improvised.
This is the world Maria has been building for 17 years, although her journey in beauty spans closer to 28. She started in this industry at 18, spending a decade with a company that ran salons across Auckland, working her way from therapist to Training Manager, opening salons, learning the discipline and habits that still define her work today.
